How much do lessons cost?
One-to-one lessons are £15 per 55 minute lesson, or £20 if the lesson is taught entirely in English. An online group course is £298 per level course. Exam preparation is £320 for 24 hours of tuition.
Which platform do lessons use?
Group courses run live on Zoom. One-to-one lessons run on a live video call, and we send you the link with your booking.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer, after the office confirms your place. We send the bank details with your booking confirmation. We do not take card payments on the site.
Can I try a class before I pay?
Yes. You can join one live group class free of charge to see how we teach. Use the free class page to ask.
What levels do you teach?
Group courses run at A1, A2, B1 and B2. One-to-one lessons are available at any level.
How long is a group course?
A level course is 12 weeks and 72 lessons in a small live group of no more than 12 learners.
How long is a one-to-one lesson?
55 minutes.
Can I change or cancel a lesson?
You can reschedule a one-to-one lesson once, with at least 48 hours notice by email, text or phone. With less than 48 hours notice the lesson is charged.
What if I am ill?
Illness is considered case by case, and we answer within ten working days.
What if a group does not run?
A group runs when enough learners have booked. If it does not run, your deposit is refunded or moved.
Do you teach children?
Yes. Our teachers teach children and adults. We offer one-to-one lessons for school age children, and a parent or carer is present or nearby during the lesson.
Do you run the IELTS, OET or B1 tests?
No. We teach and prepare you, but we do not run tests. You book the test separately and pay the test fee to the test provider.
Can you promise I will pass my test?
No. Your result depends on your own work and on the test. We cannot promise a result.
Which B1 test do I need for my visa or citizenship?
That depends on your own route, so please check gov.uk before you book a test. We cannot advise on immigration.
Do you have Bulgarian speaking tutors?
Yes, Bulgarian speaking tutors are available for one-to-one lessons. Tell us in the enquiry form if you would like one.
I live outside the UK. Can I join?
One-to-one lessons are timetabled with your tutor, so tell us your time zone in the enquiry form and we will say what is possible.
Are your tutors qualified?
Our tutors hold degrees in English philology or TEFL qualifications, and one holds a CELTA. See the tutors page for the qualifications each tutor has shared.
Do you offer classroom lessons?
Not on this site. Ucraya is for online lessons. For classroom lessons in London, visit ucraya.co.uk.
How do I start?
Send an enquiry with your goal. The office replies by email with a tutor and a first lesson to suggest.
Is there a discount if I bring a friend?
Yes. For one-to-one lessons, 2 free lessons for 1 friend, 4 for 2 and 6 for 3, if the friend studies at least two months with two lessons a week. For group courses, two people booking together get 20% off the level, and three get one module free.
